May 5th Mom Wrote
Thanks so much for keeping me, and all of us, informed about what is going on in our lives. Without our newsletter we would not know about things that are important to us. You all know how to write interesting stuff. Keep up the good work.
Last week I came across an old Chinese Proverb: "A child's life is like a piece of paper. Every person leaves a mark." This grandmother has left marks on twenty-three grandchildren. What kinds of marks?
In school "A" is good "F" is failing. I am sure I didn't have all "A's", hopefully not too many "F's".
The older grandchildren had more of my time and energy. Jenni would spend a whole week every summer with us. She and Darrell were quite a team. They would start a game of "Monopoly", get bored and run off to the barn for fun making hay tunnels, come back another day to the same game.
Bradley and I played a lot of "UNO" while we waited for his school bus. Ryan went with Phil, on his way to work and stayed with Jo and Jeff for babysitting.
Derek was the little one when the cherry tree outside our kitchen window was cut down. I have a picture of Derek standing in the sink so he could see too.
Thanks to Dave & Carol I was able to fly to Oregon for a great vacation and a trip that was great. There I got to put my foot into the Pacific Ocean and I also fell in the snow in August at Mt. Hood. I had a wonderful time with Carol and the kids while Dave was at work. I also flew to Texas for the Christmas Holidays with Carol's family. I was never afraid of flying because one of my sons took me to the airport and Dave was there to meet me.
Whenever I think of Jeff I see him with a book in his hand. Reading is as good thing. Jeff is proof, he is now a part of the working population.
Sorry I can't write about all of my grandchildren at this time, it would get way too long.
Best wishes to our graduates; Daniel, Aaron, and Phil.
Alana's wedding day is not far away.
Travel plans for some of my family.
Have a great summer.
I love every one of you.
