Today I feel like winter is almost over. Spring is in the air, the snow is disappearing and I expect the Robins any day now.
We have had a nice winter. Pat spent a few days in Detroit with a few old friends from Brazil. It was a surprise birthday present for one of her classmates in high school and she had a great time. The birthday girl was really surprised to see some friends she hadn't seen in years.
The weekend after she returned, Dan and I flew out to Hesston to visit the school and se what they had to offer. It was a nice visit; it was our first time on campus. Dan stayed in the dorm with Brian Hackman (a friend from church who is a student there) and I stayed in a local hotel. We were both impressed with the campus and they seem to offer a lot of the thing that Dan will need. Dan, however, is still processing the alternatives and is not sure what he will do in the fall.
We are still doing our paper routes. Each morning we deliver about 100 paper in the Quakertown area. We have been getting faster and are able to do it now in about 1 ½ hours from the time we leave our driveway until we get back. Karalee and Willy have been taking turns going with either Pat or me and like the challenge of trying to break the others speed record.
Enough for now….
Love, Phil

This is not my regulat ime to write, but I wanted you all to know...
As you know my job has been a bit tentative lately. Business has not been good and there have been some rumors about a possible sale of the company. Today we had a meeting and it was announced that our division of the company is closing. There is some work in process that needs to be finished up, but we will not take any new jobs and the doors will close in about 60 days.
While this was not a compete shock, it does leave me with a lot of questions. In my meeting this afternoon the corporate president said they are looking for people with my skills in another plant in Telford and that I should apply there. While that sounds like a logical solution, Pat and I have been sensing that God is calling us into another ministry, possibly a pastorate or maybe over-seas missions. I’m not sure I should start a new job now, knowing that I might only be there until fall. But at the same time, I need to pay my bills.
Please pray that God will make His plan plain to me. Pray that I will receive a severance package that will allow me to do some of the things I think God is calling me to. Pray that I will have the patience to wait on the Lord, and pray that my family as well as me will be able rest securely in the hands of the Lord through this uncertain time.
Thank you for your support
