Yes, I am Late! I wanted to fit in with the rest of the family.
We are not telling Jeff anything about the bathroom. We want to see if he notices. So I will be sending two emails. Yours will be first, Jeff’s will be second. You can just delete the second one.
I have been working on our bathroom for the last two weeks, almost non-stop. After talking about redoing our bathroom for the last five years, we decided it was time to ‘Put-up or Shut-up’. I started by removing the tile and drywall. I took two vacation days October 28th & 29th when I ripped out the bathtub, did the plumbing work for the tub and installed the new tub. By Thursday night I was able to take a 'BATH'! I believe that was my first BATH in over 25 years. Boy did I need it! By Friday night we able to take showers again.
Things were going well so I removed the sink on Saturday, figuring I could drywall and paint and have the new sink in on Tuesday night. Well, I put the sink back in today! I really don’t care for brushing my teeth in the kitchen, but figured that was better than rinsing in the toilet!
We still need to put in the medicine cabinet (mirror), one more high cabinet, another wall cabinet, a window, some more drywalling and the floor.
This project really gives me a new appreciation for what they do in SEVEN days on "The Great Home Makeover".
This evening we are going to the Moose for Jo’s (muffled sound)th class reunion. We have not been to a class reunion in many, many, many, many years. We are looking forward to seeing some old friends and checking out the two G’s. (Girth and Grey).
I have been busy at work. We are in the process of preparing to open a new elementary school next fall. I usually start working on student placement in March but with the redistricting I have been working on it for over a month already, with no end in sight.
Jo has been working on her ‘baskets’. At church we have a fundraiser called basket bingo, but bingo is not involved. We make up baskets, (or boxes, or bags) filled with goodies. Then you buy tickets to put at each basket that you want to win. After you put in your tickets they draw a ticket from each basket to see who wins it. The more tickets you put in a particular basket the better your chances of winning. Jo loves putting them together. Last year she made 17, this year I think she is up to about 25.
Jeff is working hard and should be ready to join the working world after Christmas. Anybody need a Programmer? The following is a conversation I had with Jeff. I figured this would be better than paraphrasing.
Schwenkmill Al (5:00:59 PM): morning
Zeeke42 (5:01:14 PM): hi
Schwenkmill Al (5:01:42 PM): I am working on our newsletter, what shall i say about you and what you are doing
Zeeke42 (5:03:04 PM): I got my own work done, and then got 37 projects to grade
Schwenkmill Al (5:03:24 PM): give them all F's
Zeeke42 (5:03:37 PM): enough of them got F's grading them straight up
Schwenkmill Al (5:04:05 PM): sorry that was supposed to be a joke
Schwenkmill Al (5:04:28 PM): do you like this term job better or worse then the last
Zeeke42 (5:05:25 PM): eh, some of each
Zeeke42 (5:05:37 PM): the other job required less work, but this one is more interesting
Zeeke42 (5:05:50 PM): all in all, it's probably good to be actually TAing a class
That’s it for now. Time to get ready for the reunion.
Love to ALL
Alan
