Hello to all,
This summer Jeff is involved with an Ultimate Frisbee League in Philadelphia. His team is 2-2 at this time. The league has 52 teams and is divided into 8 divisions. It is amazing that close to 900 people would want to run around chasing a piece of plastic in 90 degree heat. (I just wish that I could keep up but like Phil said, I run too much in one place.)
Jo and I will be leaving for vacation on Saturday. We will be spending the week in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Our hotel is right on the bay. It is a very relaxing atmosphere and we will enjoy reading, swimming (indoor pool) and eating seafood (fresh from the bay).
Phil, I don’t remember the ball game at the Geissinger Reunion quite the same way as you. I think I was on second and Jim was on first.
It is amazing how many possibilities a mind can conjure up when presented with phrases like ‘extremely difficult issues’, ‘very divisive issue’ and ‘none of us can fix it’ are thrown out there by someone on their way out of town. I can understand why Mary wasn’t answering her phone that evening. After meeting with Mary the next day, reality is worse than some and better than other scenarios of the mind.
I agree that our family has a comradery unlike many others. I believe we are that way in part because of our willingness to help in time of need combined with our respect of privacy in areas in which we are not involved. Our prayers and love go out to the individuals involved and the families who love them.
I look forward to our time together in a couple of weeks.
Love to all,
Alan
