Ruth's turn:

Hello to everyone!! Bill suggested I do this today so he doesn't "skip" me again. And it's good he reminded me as I'm somewhat dizzy this weekend -- literally. A viral ear infection came on very quickly Saturday at work, and I had a new experience when two of my brothers came to Holy Family Manor (Bethlehem) to take me and my car home!! It struck me as a beautiful sight when Jim and Phil came through the front door of the place where I've been working for the past year and a half. I can't say enough about the importance of a family where so much love is evident. I felt "well taken care of" -- Jim went to the drug store and picked up the motion sickness pills the doctor had suggested, while Phil stayed and kept me company. The pills are working but I'm still a little shaky on my feet -- doctor said it's taking people "a few days" to let the virus run its course. So the point of sharing this story is to say a very big

thank you

to Jim and Phil (and their family members for letting them go :) ), and to remind everybody that our family is pretty terrific. Thanks, guys!!!!!!!!

Things are very busy for me but I'm not complaining -- I have a wonderful grandson, I finally have steady paychecks, I've refinanced my house to a lower rate and included my car loan and some other large bills (residue of grad school), and still have just about the same mortgage payment I had before. So I can get back to saving for my retirement and working for the next 20 years with a career that I love. A mid-life career change is well worth it if you hate your job and can live on prayer and a shoestring while you do what you need to do.

Well, enough -- I need to lie down for a while before the room turns upside down. Thanks again, Jim and Phil!
