Mom's turn:

Dear Family,

My turn again; how the months fly by. I'm ready for Spring and warm weather.

Our "40 days of purpose" at Swamp are completed. It was a good experience. Finished last chapter in the book "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. If you never experienced a daily devotional time, it is not too late to start now. This book has 40 chapters, one to be read every day. Easy reading, down-to-earth, includes Bible verses, thoughts to ponder, and a question to consider. The last chapter suggested that we should write our own purpose in life.

This is my response.

What on earth am I here for? The Creator our God, created each of us for a purpose.

My #1 purpose is to Worship Him. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength" (Mark 12:30).

#2. To become more and more like Christ. God is far more interested in who we are than in what we do.

#3. What contribution, what service did I render? "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others" (1st Peter 4:10).

#4. How have I communicated to you, my family, the importance of knowing God and living to please Him? "The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me" (Gal. 2:20).

#5. My Church family is a very important part of my life. I often wonder how people get through tough times without the Lord and a church family.

#6. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren: You are in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I was a better letter writer. Forgive me. Your life is before you. I have lived a good long life and am ready for my home in Heaven whenever the Lord calls me. I will be there waiting for you.
