Wow - What a wonderful winter. I have been sooooooooooooo busy, but all of
the things I an doing have been sooooooo much fun, I don't know what I would
want to give up.
We are in the middle of our 40 Days of Purpose campaign at church, and it
has been great. We have been wrestling with the question, "What on earth am
I here for?" We have been having special worship services where we have been
experimenting with a lot of new aspects to worship (i.e. skits, contemporary
music, power point, video clips, etc). It has been really great. In addition
we have organized small groups for everyone to get together and discuss the
topic of the week. We have 22 groups going with about 195 people actively
involved. We have really seen the Spirit at work.
I have also been quite busy at school. It is great getting together with the
rest of my class and really digging into the Word of God. There is so much
there that we usually miss. I am learning so much and I have really been
blessed through it.
At work I am trying out the role of Project Manager. It is another new thing
that I am learning, and in a few more months there will be a new 7 level
parking garage in Trenton that I will have been responsible for getting
built. It has been a challenge and again I am learning a lot.
In about 2 weeks Pat is flying to Denver to spend a few days with her sister
there. It will be a whirl-wind tour for a short visit, but while she is
there she will scope the place out for our family vacation this summer. In
July We are all planning to drive out to Denver. After we are settled in out
there, I will fly back home, work for a week and a half, them fly out again
and drive all of them back home. (Pat and the kids wanted to spend more time
there then I could get off from work, and since they will be staying with
Anita, there will not be a big expence associated with staying there.)
I am planning my annual canoe trip on the Delaware for Friday and Saturday,
August 6th and 7th. All of you are welcome to join us.
Don't forget our Summer Reunion at the Schmidt's on July 23rd to the 25th.
Love,
Phil
