Okay okay . . . just skip me! You can't get rid of me that easily!!! :):)
Good way to get my attention, Bill! I confess I was remiss in sending out
my email, but here I am. Better late than never, I guess -- or I hope,
anyway ??
The Christmas season has been a time of blessing and joy. My family, both
large and small, and best of all, of course, my grandson.
Christmas
memories of old . . .
I remember the Christmas when I was perhaps about 10
that I received a china tea set ("play" tea party size) -- how I still
treasure that box of tiny tea cups and saucers and a teapot. It sits on a
closet shelf where I occasionally see it and remember . . . over the years I
have consistently refused to "bury" it in the attic with other forgotten
items.
I also remember how we children were always excited to see the gift our
parents had chosen for us -- we didn't write to Santa or have expectations
of a whole pile of gifts -- that ONE gift was eagerly awaited and
appreciated. I wish that more of today's children could experience the joy
that can come from the simplicity of a Christ-centered Christmas where ONE
gift is sufficient and the angst and craziness of shopping is missing!
Anyway, I hope you-all :) enjoyed the holidays as much as I did.
May the
new Year be a year of blessing and love.
Ruth
P.S. Bill, I hope you don't mind that I used your last line (below) -- and
yes, I forgive you for "skipping" me. :):) It's probably good that you
did or this may have taken a few more days.
